Sammy is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (ISW11343). He graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2005. Sammy continued his education and achieved his Masters of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2015. He has prior experience working with community agencies. Sammy began working closely with Mrs. Mena and the Hispanic community. They both realized the difficulties surrounding resources geared towards Spanish speakers. With the help of Mrs. Mena, they are working towards providing the tools necessary to provide therapy to the Hispanic community and minimize the stigma of mental health.
Sammy specializes in Anxiety, Depression, and Couples.
He also works with a variety of other issues including but not limited to: ADHD, Academic Underachievement, Addiction, Anger Management, Behavioral Issues, Codependency, Coping Skills, Co-Parenting, Divorce, Dual Diagnosis, Emotional Disturbance, Family Conflict, Grief, Infidelity, Marital and Premarital, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Parenting, Peer Relationships, and Self Esteem.
Sammy utilizes the following treatment approaches which may vary with each client's needs and identified goals: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Gottman-Method, and Motivational Interviewing. Services are available in English and Spanish.
